Kenya

Beth is an experienced and competent Individual Environmental Consultant, registered and licensed by the National Environment Management Authority, Kenya. Her consultancy services ranges from waste management, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, and Geospatial analysis. Beth particularly possesses great technical skills in the application of GIS and Remote Sensing in solid waste management, as well as the development of solid waste training manuals. Precisely, she conducted research on best practices for post-consumer plastic (PET) waste collection and recycling and developed plastic (PET) Waste Collectors and Recyclers training manual for Kenya Climate Innovation Centre, Consulting (KCIC).

Beth is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Environmental Policy at the Faculty of Law, Center for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP), University of Nairobi (Kenya). She successfully defended her proposal on “The Management of Gold Cyanidation Waste in Siaya County, Kenya”, and is currently undertaking fieldwork.

She holds a Master of Arts degree in Environmental Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management and Conservation from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (Kenya).

Beth is a practising Associate Member of Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK), and had previously worked at National Museums of Kenya (Centre for Biodiversity) and National Environment Management Authority-Kenya (Compliance and Enforcement Department).

Besides environmental issues, she is also a GIS spatial analyst and speaks 3 languages including English, Swahili, and Luo.
